Job Summary:
Provides mid-level medical services under supervision of physician; may harvest conduits, assist with
anastomosis and closure; formulates and implements a plan of care.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs duties according to approved perioperative standards in Cardiac OR
Assists surgeon/physician with progression of case in appropriate manner to facilitate timely completion
May harvest vein for coronary artery bypass procedures
Participates as in integral member of team by promoting and demonstrating collaborative team building
practices. Assists with room turnover and set-up of first cases. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examination on assigned patients; assesses and treats acute/chronic medical problems and provides direct patient care;
Education:
Graduate of approved, accredited Physician Assistant Program, BS degree; approval for privileges through
Medical Staff/Medical Affairs
Licensure:
State of TN Medical Board Certification, Certification in Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular
